Fellow burners,

(In response to "Kitten's" concern about burners falling ill do to the 2008 theme.)

This issue is written about in the "Regionals Network" too. Its amazing how much time people have to type.

Only people who complain write letters.
When you have a bad experience at a restaurant you write a letter, if you have a good one...you don't. I understand the grief, but others who are not voting are building, planning and creating and are too busy to notice.

Maybe in the future we should have input to the theme...I don't know. But for this issue...

I believe sometimes it's good to not have the choice in a theme. Life is not about us deciding everything. As artists we are ones who take what's around us and create a response or reflection.

Its easy pick out what we hate about the theme. The same as it is easy to pick out someone's clothes, politics, opinion or car that we don't like.

Its much harder to give the response to what we all "LIKE." This isn't as easy as picking out the dislikes. Ask someone what they like about themselves, then ask them what the DONT like about them selves. The later is always easier for most or at least flows steadily. We are conditioned.

I am proud of all of you, my fellow burners. I'm proud of moms who work their ass's off and raise children. If you read histories of all countries, we have done some good things. We can do more. We are the new majority as we grow older. The older generation dies off. We are either the change or just another group of "Us & Them" finger pointers.

I'm looking at this as a challenge to find out for myself what I would be proud of and visualize it and create it. And not another chance to make some art with "Bush's" face on it to show my disapproval. Sure he's a shit...but also a scapegoat. Come on...create something new. No one said art is easy. Take the challenge and prove we CAN visualize & make positive changes without pointing out someone else's short comings.

*These are my opinions and are not representing anyone else's,
including my Mistress..."Tickle".

With love,
Squeeze
(burner since 2000, 8 years straight)

PS-by the way...we are planning a decompression. opinions are great but volunteers are what make it happen. The theme is:
"Robot Ravers in the Monkey Sex Garden"
whew....I feel better. Love squeeze
